#50 What's the current state of the project?
Closed 10 months ago by firasuke. Opened a year ago by firasuke.

Hey there,

It's been 2-3 years since I last tried slibtool as a replacement for libtool but it was not complete as slibtoolize and sltdl were not complete, and it required parts from libtool which did not make it a complete replacement.

I am wondering what the current state of the project is as I am still very interested in using slibtool as a complete replacement to libtool.

Thanks again for the time and effort on this cool project.

I am planning on using slibtool and I was wondering if slibtoolize is ready, or if I should provide one alongside slibtool?

Hi! As one could tell from the commit log, recent weeks saw many advancements and improvements. Currently working towards the 0.6.0 release (ETA three to four weeks), which will include the following:

  • in-memory archive merging
  • a fully-fledged slibtoolize
  • a fully functional sltdl (for mainstream usage, at least)

As always, feel free to join the project's irc channel: #slibtool @ oftc for real-time updates and discussions.

Finally! Good to hear the project is still going strong!

Keep up the great work!
